The focus of the Committee on Genetics, Genomics & Systems Biology (GGSB) is to train students to utilize sophisticated genetic analysis in their own research program. If you are interested in receiving training in advanced rationales and methods of genetic analysis and integrating genetic-based strategies with other interdisciplinary approaches to investigate key clinical and basic science problems, the GGSB is the appropriate doctoral program. The GGSB brings together faculty from numerous academic departments who utilize a wide range of genetic strategies to address important biological problems in diverse genetically tractable systems including, viruses, bacteria, blue-green algae, Arabidopsis, yeast, Tetrahymena, nematodes, Drosophila, mice, humans, and worms.
