Research Summary / Selected Publications

My research focuses on developing methods to identify and characterize the genetic component to complex phenotypes. We have ongoing projects on diabetes (type 1, type 2 and MODY) and related quantitative traits, stuttering, psychiatrics disorders (including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism and obsessive compulsive disorders), and asthma and related quantitative traits. We conduct research on methods of analysis related to linkage mapping and association mapping, including methods for very large-scale studies. A primary focus is in developing models with realistic complexity that are computationally feasible for the analysis of large data sets, including allowance for gene x gene and gene x environment interaction.
